Today’s Devotional: Leviticus 12

The only way for the mother to return to the congregation and place in worship is by presenting sin and burnt offerings. The need for these to be presented would keep present in the mind of the parents of sin and the provision of a way to return into fellowship and worship speaks of Hope.

When a child is born into this word they are born into sin, and so a need for separation from the congregation until a sin offering and a sacrifice of atonement can be made is required.

Grace for the mother, for her rest and recovery from child birth, and a reminder for the mother who wishes for her and her new born child to come into fellowship with the congregation, they will need to be raised up in the love and encouragement of the Lord. The first step of this is to recognize that all life is born imperfect and sinful. The sinful nature is not learned but it is a result of our sinful nature which has been passed to all from the fall of mankind in the garden in Genesis.

Hope for all mankind that at the beginning of every life the need as well as the gracious provision was brought freshly to the parents mind. A need for restoration of a child is provided. And a need for the mother to herself also be restored to worship were both provided by the offering the mother would give.
