Today’s Bible Reading: Exodus 8-10

Today’s Devotional: Exodus 8:1-19

Exodus 8:1-15 Pharaoh the strong willed, all the way God gave Pharaoh opportunities to use that same strong will in surrender to Him, Pharaoh now has the experiential knowledge that God is the one true God.

Pharaoh’s further reactions to God’s warnings, and the magicians plead to recognize God’s hand and power.

God seeks and impresses through many ways on the heart of the proud and self willed. God’s desire is that the proud and self willed will come to recognize how good He is. That pulled towards the fulfillment that is in this world or in ourself only leads to death and destruction because that is where this world is heading. But God, but the life which forgoes it’s pride and strong will and recognizes the fulfillment that is found only in and through Jesus Christ has no shortage of the Spiritual blessings which He has poured out on all of the Church through Jesus Christ.

We should also look at God’s servants which He sent only with the equipping of His Word, which comes only from a personal relationship with His Word and sitting with Him in times which we may believe to be only obscure times. God’s preparation of Moses and Aaron was enough, they had separated themselves from the culture of the day. They lived under a new value system and their relationship towards others had changed. That’s all God needed, a willing and open heart to come into and work out of. For God to display Himself to all Moses and Aaron would come in contact with. The gods of Egypt were not sufficient to save the Children of Israel or the Egyptians.

Moses and Aaron irregardless of the possible testing of their faith in God to perform what he had promised, stayed committed to trusting God, and from the third plague on, they saw the magicians power stayed limited by God.
