Then the Lord appeared to him

Genesis 26:1 We see the 2nd occurrence of famine in scripture.

Each patriarch, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob each experienced a famine. And a famine is no respecter of persons, it affects the poor and the rich, the strong and the weak. In 2 Samuel 21 and 24 we see the famines there would or would have been meant for the purpose of judging a nation for its wickedness.

On those who’s hearts are focused on the Lord and the things that are eternal, we see that God uses a famine for the purpose of bringing them closer to Him for the purpose of God to share something with them that they personally had never experienced of God before. They may have read or heard about it previously from another. But that’s not what the Lord wants, for man to experience Him and His ways through another and for what has been heard about God to never be personal to each and every individual.

What about in your own life?

God’s Word says that He desires to give His Grace and His Peace which only He can give. And that’s something the world does not know and can not give to you or to me (John 4:13-14, John 7:37-39, and 1 John 3:1), and this Peace will bring rivers of living water flowing out of you and into the world and culture around you, and it will bring true life to the culture around you. Are you tired of what you see around you today and how the culture is going about in it’s own desires. Well spend time with Jesus and allow Him to fill you with the Holy Spirit, then through His filling in your life, He will water the culture around you and bring life to it.

This all flows out of a relationship with Jesus Christ and the Word of God constantly being washed over you, God’s love being sown into your life. The world’s systems, ways, and methods will never be able to refresh the Individual or the Church as a whole. 1 John 3:1 Because the world doesn’t know us, so how can the world satisfy or give Peace to what it doesn’t know?

For this Peace in your life the Lord has appeared to you and said to dwell in and with Him, and He will perform every Spiritual Blessing that He has promised and bestowed on you as His child, because He has adopted you by the Blood of Jesus Christ.

God has something great intended for each individual in the world this year. A desire to have a deeper knowledge of the revelation of who He is. This year I want to encourage you to live life where He has told you. Don’t keep trying to live where He hasn’t sent you. And dwell in His Word, Grow in the knowledge of Him Ephesians 1:15-23 tells us. So that He may complete in you what He has promised, Romans 8:29 and 2 Corinthians 3:1. And Ephesians 2:4&7 tells us the purpose of why He does what He does, He loves you and desires to show His kindness to you.

Won’t we join Him and what He desires this year, because of the great love He has shown towards us.
