Today’s Bible Reading: 1 Samuel 8-10

Today’s Devotional: 1 Samuel 8:1-6
When leaders don’t lead, but instead they follow the ways of the world.
When those who the Lord desires to be an example choose not to be a positive example but instead a negative example. People only end up desiring more of the world, the thought is that they will get something opposite of the bad example, but the opposite is true because they are seeking after something other than God and His perfect knowledge for their life.
As Paul wrote to the believers in Philippi in Philippians 3:17-4:1 we should seek out and ask the Lord to work and raise up the right examples and not throw the baby out with the bath water.
In all of this, with the Israel no longer desiring to the a Theocracy as the Lord had intended and was His perfect will for them, the beauty is that the Lord will always work and bring about His Will through our free will choice’s. Through Israel’s free will and choice of a monarchy like every other nation around them, Jesus Christ would come and be King of King’s and because of David’s heart and free will to love the Lord with all his heart the Messiah would come through his family. For us today, because of our free will choice to love the Lord and accept Him as Lord of our life and His ways as best in our lives; we now have the Holy Spirit dwelling within us and by our free will to allow our life to be transformed into His home and dwelling place here on earth, He works through the broken vessels that we are and His strength is made perfect in our weakness, 2 Corinthians 12:9.
