Today’s Bible Reading: 1 Kings 6-7

Today’s Devotional: 1 Kings 6:1-10
In all of our lives the Lord not only raises us to a new life with Christ when we accept Jesus as Lord of our lives. Not only does He come and dwell within us, but He also desires to raise the remainder of our life from the death and destruction of this world. Christ is worked into our lives by the Holy Spirit who completes this work by the same power which raise Jesus from the dead. The Lord desires to make our hearts His home, this process is called sanctification which has many desirable waypoints in our life but the goal is always the same, it is to be made in to the image of the person of Jesus Christ by having the mind and heart of Christ, and not only our eternal position or our past situation. Our entire lives are important to the Lord to raise to life.
One of these waypoint in our lives this that our lives will be turned into and focused on true worship and not the false worship which the world offers.
Worship is anything which has the main attention and central focus of our lives.
Christ as our worship is: He is the person of our praise, He is the person of our knowledge, He is the person of our requests; everything comes from and points to Him. This begins with just spending time with Him, as we see from Solomon in 1 Kings 3:4. And God desires for Him to not only be who we choose, but also to be a public declaration and display of our lives which will be an example pointing others to true worship and to Him.
Because Solomon had been prepared by and through a relationship with the Lord, Solomon was then empowered by the knowledge which he had grown in of the Lord’s heart to complete the Lord’s Temple the Lord’s Way and not the way of the world.
