Today’s Bible Reading: 2 Kings 6-8

Today’s Devotional: 2 Kings 6:1-7
At this time there was a great impact that the Lord was ding through Elisha in the land, and the Lord prepared hearts and a group of individuals for the work of ministry before the move of God’s Spirit on and during the reign of Joash in Judah.
In this time of preparation the Lord shows us so many valuable and timeless principles of operating as a part of His Kingdom, allowing His Spirit to move, and the preparation that is needed in the lives of those who will serve those who come to a saving knowledge of Jesus during a time that we today would call a revival, which is a large span of people covering many different backgrounds who have nothing in common except for Jesus and not only do the people then adopt a Biblical value system and walking in a new life with Jesus Christ but the culture and even economical trends change because the community or area begins to spend there time, energy, and resources differently and no longer what is common throughout the world.
- The expansion shows that there was a move of God’s Spirit on a small group of people, before a time we know now that was marked b the reign of Joash which had a revival and people attention and focus turned back to the things of the Lord and His presence in their life and no longer what they saw was important in their own lives. The culture of Judah and Israel at this times was anything but Godly, but through a faithful man named Elisha setting his life apart for the Lord it then attracted others who the Lord was just starting to impress up their hearts who He is; and so they sought not friends and social norms but they placed their fellowship and focus where the could grow spiritually and the eternal things and no longer their temporal things.
- Elisha didn’t go out and just build the expansion, but it was the Spirit of God moving among the young profits then Elisha deligated ministry.
- The young profits served, not seeking to be served and waiting for a new building to be given. They served with the prompting and leading of what the Lord was doing and what He desired to do because they had been learning God’s Heart through His Word.
- The young profit realized and recognized the tools and equipping for ministry are borrowed and given liberally and in wielding them should be mindful of others and seek to be a good steward of what’s been entrusted by the Lord for ministering to others.
- That only God can do what He can do and anything we do to serve others can only be done by the emboldening of the Holy Spirit.
