Today’s Bible Reading: 1 Chronicles 6-7

Today’s Devotional: 1 Chronicles 6:1-30
The Levitical family, is the Lord done with using those He had worked through if they stumbled, a word that generally gets thrown around today is fallen into this or that sin.
The Lord inspires the author of Chronicles to lay out a reminder of His faithfulness in the lives of those in ministry. When situations or circumstances come which an individual stumbles and the Lord’s moving in the midst of them serving changes that it was not because the Lord changed, but because those serving changed path from the Lord’s instructed and desire and placed their direction and focus for serving on the ways of the nations around them serving in their temples or upon their own desires for serving.
At various times some serving the Lord in the Temple departed from the Lord’s direction and instruction for service.
The Lord here gives and encouragement of remembering His covenant with the tribe of Levi and promise of using and working through them and not removing them from service as long as they keep His standard of serving the only form of ministry and service within the nation and His Temple.
If we find ourselves stumbling in serving, the Lord’s heart is for restoration and to build up and equip the areas of our lives where compromise was allowed in. Everything needed for serving in any area of ministry has been given us from within His Word and the full council from it. The compromise begins when we go out side of His Word and relationship with Him to find instruction or direction for serving.
