Today’s Bible Reading: 2 Chronicles 1-4

Today’s Devotional: 2 Chronicles 1:1-6

Going to the place where we meet with the Lord, when we go before and meet with the Lord we should seek to approach both His mercy as well as a continued fellowship with Him. At different points in our lives it may seem like the point at which we found mercy from the Lord and where we fellowship with the Lord may feel far off and separated from where we are and from one another.

The first step we need to take, is to be reminded of is that feeling we may have has never been the Lord’s intention nor His desire, however often times because of our sinful nature or perhaps different circumstances, or maybe even choices we may have made then to us His mercy and fellowship seem too far off and further apart than they are. No matter how it may seem we should always seek both, and in seeking to have both, the Lord reveals and makes clear Himself to us.

We approach with the same manner as Solomon, we lay down our goals, our desires, and we seek the Lord’s desires and direction. We hold nothing back from giving the Lord everything in our life and to seek His direction, His will, and His favor in every aspect of what He desires for our life. We bring others along as well for prayer and because the work the Lord desires to do is always too much for one individual to handle to do on their own.
